Adam and I met when I was in nursing school with his aunt in 2018. I became good friends with his aunt at the time, and she asked if I would like to come to Texas with her to haul her camper back home. It was Thanksgiving break from school, so I figured "why not", and I decided to tag along last minute. After 2 days of driving from WV to TX we finally made it around 2am. We were only going to be in TX for 24 hours since we needed to get back to WV for Thanksgiving day. When we woke up that morning, a storm had knocked the power out of the house, and we desperately needed to shower after driving. We went up to Adam's parents house where I walked in wearing a t-shirt, sweatpants, and had a messy bun. There sat Adam who I thought was cute, and I was embarassed of my looks. After a short chat with his family, I asked where the shower was so that I could get myself cleaned up. Once I was finished with my shower, I walked out to the kitchen where Adam introduced himself, and followed with "So I hear you're from West Virginia? Welcome to Sweet Tea and Good Manners." I got a good giggle out of this. From then on he had me hooked with his corniness as well as his kindness. We all went to dinner that night, and I sat next to Adam so that we could chat. We seemed to hit it off from there! When I left, we held a long distance relationship for the next 8 months while I finished nursing school. After that, I packed up and moved to Texas to be with the man I love!
