Mike and Kandi met in high school. They hung out and talked often as friends. Kandi insisted Mike was not her type but Mike didn't care, he was not going to give up. He even told her father, "one day she will get sick of dating jerks and I'll be there waiting when she is ready for a nice guy."

Kandi was young and vain and ignored this. But Mike was a great friend and she was not about to give that up.

Well, five years of being good friends and many broken relationships later, she was finally ready. She realized when anything went wrong, it was him she called. When she wanted to go out and have fun, it was him she called. Maybe that was a sign?!

Once they began dating there was no going back. They were both very in love. One thing weighed on Kandi's mind. They both wanted a family. Kandi however had a long line of fertility problems in her family and had been told numerous times she had to have children very young if she wanted them. Knowing they wanted to stay together forever, Kandi and Mike decided to give it a shot.

On June 3, 2011, their lives were forever changed by the birth of their son, Kalob Michael.

They are now remodeling a home for their small family and loving life!
